About

The story behind Norwegian Input.

The main reason for starting this project called Norwegian Input is to help people learn Norwegian in an easier, more effective and fun way. When thinking about learning a new language as an adult, you will often think in the most well-known way of learning a language. You will think about studying grammar rules and memorization of words often without context. Luckily you have come to the right place! A new language can be learned in a completely different way. The method is called comprehensible input.

I am Erik, the creator of this webpage. I really found and embraced this method when I was to start to learn a new language as an adult.

I started to learn Spanish as a 30+ years old adult. I had previously tried to learn Spanish to some extent before with typical methods like regular school classes and using language apps on the phone. This was boring and ineffective in my learning, so the output was limited.

When I came across the webpage dreamingspanish.com, I learned that learning a language can be done in a much more natural way. Also it is easier and more fun to acquire a language with comprehensible input. Of course I have used this method in my school classes when I worked as a teacher too, but among other methods at the same time. When first focusing on only listening with video supporting the words for context, you will acquire words and grammar without knowing that you learn it. This is the natural way of learning a language, just like you as a child learned your mother tongue. First listen. And listen a lot! Before starting to read and speak.

With Norwegian Input, I want to help you to become fluent in Norwegian.
